Allison Clements sits at the intersection of market design, policy and innovation to deliver reliable and cost-effective energy transitions strategies to her clients.

As principal at 804 Advisory, she harnesses her deep knowledge of grid planning, interconnection and market design towards commercial and policy strategy for investors, energy developers, academics and non-profits.

In addition to 804, Allison is a partner with ASG, a digital infrastructure advisory firm. Among other commitments, she also serves as a senior advisor to Capstone and is on the board of the University of Pennsylvania’s Kleinman Center for Environmental Policy. She recently co-chaired the energy transition effort for New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherill’s administration.

Allison understands the impact of complex technical regulations and politics on energy infrastructure development, transactions and operations. As a Senate-confirmed commissioner on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) from 2020-2024, she worked to reform regional transmission planning and cost allocation through landmark rule Order 1920; reformed grid interconnection queues in Order 2023 with a “next steps” concurrence road map to lead sector thinking; spearheaded innovation and the use of grid enhancing technologies, demand side resources and energy efficiency; and, focused on evolving market rules to more accurately reflect changing grid needs and resource value relative to those needs. She also championed the establishment of FERC’s Office of Public Participation.

Prior to serving as a FERC commissioner, Allison was an attorney in private practice and then a strategist and policy advocate. While in these roles, she lent her energy expertise in several capacities including as a member of a National Academies of Sciences committee on grid resilience and co-chair of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Electric Grid Initiative. As someone who has always gravitated to conversations about the inner workings of the grid and related policy, Allison was the founding host of the Grid Geeks podcast from 20XX-20XX.
